How do I highlight over previously highlighted then colored hair without it looking orangey or brassy ?

I previously had no color on my naturally ash blonde hair, only highlights from like a year ago. I just colored it with clairol - light golden blonde, it's level 8NG. My hair now looks like it's got a slight orangey color to it. It didn't turn out very golden at all. It's not horrible, but instead of coloring over it, I want to highlight it. What products should I use to ensure it's not orange highlights or brassy gold looking ? I am doing this myself. How do I highlight over previously highlighted then colored hair without it looking orangey or brassy ?
Try using one of the COLORED highlight kits in an ASH, CHAMPAGNE Or SILVER/PLATINUM shade: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a鈥?/a>

Also, If your Highlights are still brassy. Try Born Blonde: http://www.thecreativestudio.com/dispens鈥?/a> No-Peroxide / No-Ammonia Toner It will Tone The Highlights without changing the rest of your hair.

Good-Luck!!How do I highlight over previously highlighted then colored hair without it looking orangey or brassy ?
DO NOT do it yourself. It could turn a brighter orange or some color like green could come up. have it done proffesionally.
get proffesional help a lot of tints only add more colour not lift out the orange so you might just make it worse .. bleach is the best to get colour right ... hairdresser
try using a temporary blond colour like natural instincts by clairol and put it on right after you put the highlights in ... [put it on top of the frosted highlights]

the temporary colour will fade but it keeps the highlights from getting brassy:D

goodluck!
