I have dark brown/black hair. I want to highlight it with some unique colors..?

I want either pink or something else...Is this possible or is it too complicated? What are some other options?I have dark brown/black hair. I want to highlight it with some unique colors..?
First off for it your hair is naturally that dark: Yes you can get pink but it will require a lot of lifting. Reds would be easier and certain purples but if your hair is really dark the purple may get lost. Not everyone can do everything color wise with their hair while maintaining the hair's integrity. Some types dark hair is easier then others to lighten then others with minimal damage. A cosmetologist will be able to help you better.





If your hair is dyed that dark it many be a bit harder. It can be tricky some times removing that dark of a color but it is possible but then you would have to go with a red shade.





If you just want to add some fun color you could get a couple of extensions put in just to add some color. Just a couple extensions is cheaper then a whole head.





But anything you want would need to be dramatic enough for people to notice it (1 or 2 shades lighter works on light hair but can't be seen well on dark hair.) And low lights or Black/brown hair will be almost undetectable.





But definitely, this is not a DYI project. Talk to a good colorist and see what she thinks she can do. She may even suggest things you never thought of :)





oh, and if you get blonde with your really dark hair, keep in mind it may look kind of like skunk stripes.

you can try golden blonde or dark red. Or have multi-colors. Try doing it highlights and/or lowlights.
pink highlights with black hear is REALLY cute ^-^

but if yew went to a salon, they would bleach the part yew wanted pink, and then dye it pink..





its much easier to get clip on extensions that colour though, so id try that first :D

Usually when you go to the hair dressers they show you a book of possible colours... there are SO many! I think pink would look lovely.
I think a light cyan would really POP against the dark hair.





My friend also got bleach blonde streaks in hers, and that also shows up well and looks great.





Any lighter color is good because they it will be more noticable.
Pink would look real unique but dont get to carried away with the highlights, red tones are also pretty!
It would be really difficult because you would have to bleach the parts you want highlighted and then dye them pink.





You should get dark red lowlights. You can even add in some brighter red highlights too.
