Highlight colors for redheads?

I have medium red hair and am thinking of getting some highlights. I have never colored my hair before so am looking for suggestions of what colors to use. I would like something subtle but flattering.

My daughter has red hair and in the past has had blond, brown, copper, and red. All of the colors looked good in her hair. I would go for highlights and low lights and see how that looks.Highlight colors for redheads?
how about black or lavender highlights?
my friend got blonde streaks and it looked great. but if you wantt to be bold.. why not black?!
