Low Lights are dark strands in your hair, used for covering up to light hair so it has more color. High Lights are strands of color that are used to stand out so it looks like you have streaks! i think highlights might be cute on you! some colors would be a brown like this http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o276/鈥?/a>

or like a kind of shiny red/ burgundy like this

lowlights are normally more subtle, and normally undre the first layer of hair, hence the 'subtle' effect. it also means that regrowth isn't as much of an issue, cause you can't see all of it. Highlights, are normally on top and often more obvious. The roots can be seen, and normally, highlights are blondes, reds, etc. lowlights are normally colours that are similar to your base colour, but a bit lighter. I have dark brown hair and i have light brown and red lowlights, so it's subtle and cause i have layers they have a sort of ';peek a boo'; effect.
Highlights and lowlights should be used only if they're going to be an improvement. If your hair is a color that could be bleached by the sun alone, highlights can give you that sun-streaked look that may or may not be flattering, depending on your hairstyle, complexion, and eye color. Black hair never looks right with highlights. Lowlights are the opposite of highlights in tone and placement--instead of a shade or two lighter than your natural color, they're a shade or two deeper, and instead of the front, sides, top of your head, they're beneath the crown and at the nape. They're sometimes not visible unless your hair is in motion, as you walk or turn your head or stand in a breeze. Dark brown hair looks best with highlights that pick up either the red, gold, or ash tones you already have. Look closely at your eye color. too, and see whether you find more tones of gold, red, or gray.

When in doubt, don't. Highlights or lowlights for their own sake always look like the phony waste of money and time that they are.
Low Lights are dark strands in your hair, used to either cover up too light hair or to add darker color.

High Lights are strands of color that stand out in your hair and are a lighter color then your color.

A good color for you hair would be a light light brown, or a caramel color. But i would go for the very light brown
