What is physicians formula multi-colored highlight supposed to do for your face?

it was a gift. it has tons of different colors in it. i took my blush brush, tried mixing the colors, and applied it. but i dont see anything.it looks like plain powder to me. what is it supposed to do for my skin? it doesn't look like its highlighting at all. -.- maybe i'm applying it wrong?What is physicians formula multi-colored highlight supposed to do for your face?
It is to highlight your face. You would sweep it down the bridge of your nose, under your eyes, on your cheekbones, and on the very tip of your chin.





These are the areas that you want to highlight on your face, to give it a more contoured look.

If it's one of the Shimmer Stip highlight than you lightly brush it along your checkbone to give a candle light glow.
