What color highlight/lowlights do you think I should get?

I'm actually pretty happy with my current (natural) color at the moment, but I feel like just that one color alone looks a little flat, so I'm considering highlights or lowlights. I'm not sure if I want blonde, auburn, lighter or darker brown or what. I've had blonde highlights before, but those were too blonde.





I don't want anything really noticeable, just a subtle change.

Your hair IS pretty as is and once you start with highlights or color, it needs maintenance and each time you get it retouched, if it's lighter, it gets lighter and lighter at the ends. If you must, ask your hairdresser to add subtle highlights that look like your hair was kissed by the sun. Like you get naturally when you're in the sun a lot. I wouldn't go darker or red.What color highlight/lowlights do you think I should get?

I think that adding 'both' highlights and lowlights would look really amazing. I believe that if you want a subtle look then you should never go more that two shades darker or lighter.
I say go with some auburn highlights just to break up your brown a little bit and maybe a few strawberry blonde to lighten it a little...thats my 2 cents
i would say caramel highlights!!! the look natural and sooooo sexy!
Your hair is too dark for lowlights, unless you want dark brown/black streaks.





The reason the old highlights looked too blonde is because you have cool tones. Try going for more of an ash blonde for highlights instead. Because your hair is already a light ash brown, it would only make sense to continue the ash hues unless you want several colors in your hair.

A cooler red might be stunning you have a beautiful porcelian skintone.
none, don't mess with perfection. You already look great. Buy new make up instead. Sometimes new colors will give your look a lift.
I'd say go for auburn highlights. Too many brunettes are dying their hair blond nowadays.
OK i looked on your about me thing and your five other links of pictures and you are so pretty totally gorgeous and your hair is very pretty. if you really want to put highlights go for golden highlights they will add a little touch to your hair very subtle. but remember that highlights will damage your hair it might really make it dry and less shiny. i wouldn't mess with your hair. its very pretty as it is and putting some subtle highlights in isn't worth it but if you really want to golden is the way to go and don't put any low-lights in.

i would have to say a chocolate (dark kinda) brown with blonde streaks. i would guess it would depends were you get it done. some between $40-$80. i am not really sure my mom pays like $40 for touch ups at the roots and a few streaks (but she also gets a hair cut when she gets touch ups) yeah well i hoped i helped.What would be a good highlight color for my hair? I've always liked the burgandy colored chunks in darker hair like yours. Because sometimes when you go to lighten hair that dark it turns a not-so-nice shade of orange! And the contrast of bleached out blonde %26amp; black hair can sometimes looks just plain trashy! So I'd stick to the burgandy. But, that's just my opinion!! Hope it helps!!

it's hard to know exactly without seeing your face shape and lifestyle. first of all, make sure you get it done professionally. box color in the grocery store is no good. your licensed professional with help you choose the right color for you. a lot of times with natural brunettes, it's best to stay in the brunette family... in my opinion. so maybe go for a lighter shade of brown with maybe a hint of red.
It depends, if you swim in chlorine, it may affect highlights (so people say) but for me it hasn't. But my suggestion is to go highlights because they're hot. But if you think your hair is too dark and it wont blend in, maybe color + highlights will do. I find highlights blends in the hair and gives a hottness. Oh, and if you like your hair curly, it's nice to have medium brown color.
i am a hairdresser and i think your best option is to go to a salon and ask for a mix of these highlights; one light brown one caramel and one blonde all mixed together will look fab, dont worry about the pool it shud only effect you if u have bright blonde hair and even at that it only effects somr people. because you are in the sun make sure to use plenty of condishioner as the highlights will dry your hair up a little, also try putting treatments in now and again. DO NOT try and do this yourself i promise you it wont turn out good if u do!!!

From your discription, i have the same kind of hair as you. I have had a blue/green colour in my hair and then a pinkish/purple. Personally, i liked the blue and think it would look best in your hair.

I do mine at home my self. the last time i went to the salon and had it done. I went in wanting one color which was a golden blonde with red highlightsd and i came out with Dark Brown hair. I mean dark brown. I had to color strip it and fix it. still cant get rid of the brown.

well, my answer is that; I'm a beauty-school drop-out. I do believe that I have been every color of the rainbow, except, I haven't tried black yet. I have even been roxy-red, which ended up looking like, barney, purple..And now I'm trying not to let the gray, overrule my head..
